RES · United Electric Service
Residential electrician
Most of what we do is house work, and most house calls start the same way: something stopped working and nobody can figure out why. We'll find it, tell you what it is in plain language, and quote the fix before we do it.
The everyday calls
Half the house dark on one breaker. An outlet that quit. Lights that flicker when the air conditioner starts. A breaker that trips every time the microwave and the toaster run together. A three-way switch that only works from one end. None of these are mysteries to us — they're Tuesday.
The other half is planned work: adding circuits for a remodel, wiring an addition, getting a shop or garage properly powered, putting in a car charger, or replacing a service that's simply too small for how the house is used now.

How It Goes
Common Questions
Questions about residential
How much does an electrician cost in Lebanon, Missouri?
It depends entirely on the job, and any shop that quotes you a house-wide number over the phone without seeing it is guessing. What we will do is look at it and give you a firm price before any work starts, so you're not watching a clock run. Call 417-588-3497.
Why do my lights flicker when the air conditioner comes on?
A brief dip when a big motor starts is normal. A noticeable flicker every time, or flickering that's gotten worse, usually means an undersized service, an overloaded circuit, or — the one that matters — a loose connection somewhere in the panel or the service. Loose connections heat up. That one is worth a call.
Do I need to be home for the work?
For the diagnosis, yes, usually — you know things about the house that we don't, like what was happening the first time it acted up. For planned work, we can often work with you not there once we've agreed on the scope.
Can you add an outlet where there isn't one?
Almost always. How hard it is depends on what's between the new location and the nearest usable source — an unfinished basement or attic above makes it easy, a finished wall on a slab makes it work. We'll tell you which before we start.
Do you work on older homes with fuse boxes or cloth wiring?
Yes, and there's a lot of both around Lebanon. Old wiring isn't automatically dangerous, but a fuse box, cloth-insulated conductors, or ungrounded two-prong outlets all limit what the house can safely do. We'll walk it with you and tell you what actually needs addressing versus what's fine to leave alone.
