24/7 · United Electric Service
24/7 emergency electrician
Some electrical problems can wait until Monday. These can't: no power at all, a burning or hot-plastic smell, a panel that's warm to the touch, visible sparking, a breaker that trips the instant you reset it, water where power is, or a service mast pulled loose by a storm. Call and an electrician answers.
What counts as an electrical emergency
If you're asking yourself whether it can wait, call and ask us — it costs nothing to describe it over the phone and we'll tell you honestly. But these are the ones where you should not wait:

How It Goes
Common Questions
Questions about emergency service
Who do I call when my power goes out but my neighbors still have power?
That points at your service, your meter or your main panel rather than the utility, and it's an electrician's call. Ring United Electric Service at 417-588-3497 any hour. If the whole street is dark it's the utility — call them first and save yourself a bill.
Is there an electrician open right now near Lebanon, Missouri?
Yes. United Electric Service answers emergency calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at 417-588-3497, covering Lebanon, Camdenton, Osage Beach, Marshfield, Waynesville, St. Robert, Richland and the surrounding counties.
My breaker keeps tripping and won't reset. What does that mean?
A breaker that trips is doing its job — something on that circuit is drawing more current than it should, or there's a short or a ground fault. A breaker that trips the instant you reset it, with nothing plugged in, usually means a dead short in the wiring. Don't keep resetting it and don't replace it with a bigger one; that removes the protection without fixing the fault. Call us.
What should I do if I smell something burning near an outlet or panel?
Shut off the breaker for that circuit if you can do it safely, or the main if you can't tell which. Don't use that outlet. If there's smoke or you see fire, get out and call the fire department first. Then call us at 417-588-3497 — a burning smell is a real fault and it does not fix itself.
Do you charge extra for nights and weekends?
Emergency work outside normal hours is priced differently than a scheduled call — that's true of every shop. We'll tell you what you're looking at on the phone before we roll, so there's no surprise on the bill.
